July 19, 2002 - Starting July 22nd, Judge Marilyn Milian, from the People's Court, will make her soap debut as Judge Danielle Tepperman. Her Court Officer from The People's Court, Douglas MacIntosh, will also appear on the show.

From TVGuide Online:

On The People's Court the cases are real and unscripted, a factor Milian had to toss aside for the soap. "It is so much easier to do things the way I do it than to do things off a script," she declares. "Every single player on the daytime set has to remember their lines. If he or she doesn't, you have to take it from the top again. I have a newfound respect for the people who do this sort of thing."

Known for the zingy comments she slings on The People's Court, Milian kept uncharacteristically quiet during her ATWT stint. "The writers know what's been happening on the show over the last 47 years, so everything has a purpose; you don't just throw things in," she explains. Well, maybe on one occasion. "There was one ruling that was so blatantly wrong ... I insisted on changing it," Milian declares. "They said, 'Sustained,' and I said, no it's quite overruled, can you please let me change this one."

Milian may have the last word when she presides on The People's Court, but the judge was relying on the final word of daytime's finest during her ATWT guest stint. "Colleen Zenk Pinter (Barbara) is unbelievable. She took me under her wing because she could tell I had no idea what was going on," Milian exclaims. "There are so many rehearsals [on the daytime set], I was never sure when they were taping, and I would look at Barbara and she would say, 'Okay, this is the real thing.'" But Milian wouldn't mind a second go as a soap opera siren. "I wouldn't be able to resist temptation," she reveals. "I want to have a love interest with one of the lawyers."
