In 1997 Kathryn Hays celebrated 25 years of playing Kim Hughes on ATWT. In an episode that aired in November 1997, her life and times were celebrated. In a coma due to the church fire, Kim Hughes was visited by her deceased sister, Jennifer. Jennifer and Kim looked back on Kim's life and how Kim's family was dealing with her being ill. Gillian Spencer returned to the show, she played Jennifer from 1972 to 1975. Jennifer guided Kim through ups and downs, in the end, Kim chose to return to her life. The photos on this page show Jennifer guiding Kim through scenes of her family trying to deal with her being ill and the possibility that she might not recover. Kim and Jennifer can see her family and friends, but they can't see them. To them, Kim is in a coma, unaware of what is going on. Part two consists of a lot of wonderful photos of Kim and Jennifer.
Jennifer appears in Kim's room. Soon Kim's spirit joins Jennifer. Jennifer explains that no one can see them. It's an emotional reunion between the two sisters. 
Kim and Jennifer go to Kim's home. Kim sees the family dealing with her illness.
Andy talks to Bob in Kim and Bob's bedroom. Bob then decides to take a nap. Unable to sleep, Bob soon decides to return to the hospital to be with Kim.
Kim chooses life! She says good-bye to Jennifer and wakes up from her coma!
