Jay Hammer

Jay Hammer created the role of Fletcher Reade in March 1984. The character left Springfield in March 1998 and returned briefly in the Spring of 1999.

Jay used to work for Guiding Light as a writer. He appeared as Alan Willis in The Jeffersons, had a role on The Blue Knight, and has made guest appearances in Kojak, Mannix, Sons and Daughters, Emergency, and Adam-12. He played Max Dekker in the series Texas.

His theater credits include off-Broadway productions of Passing Through from Exotic Places and Serenading Louie.

Jay graduated from the University of the Pacific. He enjoys movies, water polo, and baseball. He is married to Dene Nardi and has four children. He was born in San Francisco, CA on November 16.
