Melina Kanakaredes originated the role of Eleni Andros Cooper on Guiding Light in 1991. She played the role until 1994.
Melina was born on April 23, 1967 in Akron, Ohio. She is 5'7" and has green eyes. She has been married to Peter Constantinides since 1992. Peter is a chef. Melina attended Ohio State and then Point Park College where she graduated cum laude in musical theater. She is a prior Miss Columbus. She was First Runner Up for Miss Ohio 1987. Melina has appeared in many theater productions. She had roles in off-Broadway productions of State of the Art, Evita, 42nd Street, Romeo and Juliet, and Candide. On television, Melina has had regular roles on NYPD Blue, Leaving L.A., and The Practice. Melina's film credits include Rounders and The Long Kiss Goodnight.
