Roger Newman

Roger Newman first joined Guiding Light in 1970. He portrayed Ken Norris from 1970 to 1975. GL's Executive Producer, Paul Rauch, had the idea to bring Ken Norris back to the show. They didn't have to go far to find Roger, as he has been a scriptwriter for Guiding Light since the mid-1980s. Roger returned to GL in August 1998. He is not only seen onscreen as Ken Norris, but continues to be write scripts for the show.

Born in London, Roger has been an actor since he was a child. He once appeared in commercials for soap. His family moved to Canada when he was younger.

Married to ex-GL castmate Fran Myers since 1975, Roger has one child, a son. Fran portrayed Peggy Scott on GL from 1965 to 1979. She currently works as a scriptwriter for Days of Our Lives.
