Michael Zaslow was born on November 1, 1944 in Inglewood, California. His parents were Edith Bernstein Zaslow and Milton aslow. He attended UCLA. Although Michael appeared on daytime dramas One Life to Life (as David Renaldi from 1983 to 1986 and again in 1998) and Search for Tomorrow (as Dick Hart from 1970 to 1971), he is best known for originating the role of villian Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light. He played the role from 1971 to 1980 and again from 1989 to 1997. In 1994 Zaslow won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for portraying Roger on GL. Michael's other television credits include appearances on Law & Order, King's Crossing, and Love Is a Many Splendored Thing. He appeared in the feature films Star Trek: First Contact, Meteor, Seven Minutes in Heaven, and You Light Up My Life. Michael's theater credits include roles in Broadway products of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Fiddler on the Roof. In 1996 he played Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady at the Pittsburgh Light Opera. Michael was married twice. He married and divorced Joanne Dorian. In 1975 he married Susan Hufford. They have two adopted children named Marika and Helena. Michael passed away due to complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) on December 6, 1998. He was 54.
