In My Opinion

Blake's Mouth

In My Opinion, Blake just needs to shut up sometimes. I like the character of Blake - don't get me wrong. But there are two times that stick in my mind when I feel Blake has stepped over the line and I wish I could have slapped her!

Now Blake is no angel, and I've enjoyed her antics. But she's pretty quick to judge others considering she's been down in the grass with the rest of the snakes.

Anyhow, case in point one. Prior to Annie's wedding to Josh, Blake, Lillian, Annie, and Vanessa got together at Annie's. They proceeded to trash Reva, with Blake making specific comments about how Reva was less than wonderful. Was this really necessary? Was she trying to make Annie feel better, or herself feel better for trashing Reva, who wasn't there to defend herself?

Fast forward a couple of years. Look who Blake's best buddy is - Reva. If only Reva had been a fly on that wall - after all - loyalty is important to her.

Case in point two: Blake tells Harley on the January seventh show that she never knew what Phillip saw in Beth anyhow. So Blake's marriage to Phillip was a disaster, no surprise there. Harley actually helped Beth (willingly) prepare for Beth's wedding to Phillip. But let's forget history and let's not get sidetracked here. My point is, Blake really doesn't need to be trashing Beth. After all, in two years she may need a new best friend.

Now soap rivalries can be quite enjoyable. But these backstabbing comments are better left unsaid by characters that may need these people as allies much sooner than they expect. It's sad to see that Blake hasn't grown up enough to stop attacking others - does it really make her feel better about her own mistakes? Maybe in the future Blake will look in the mirror before she judges others.
