After a couple of weeks of shows by the new headwriters, it's time to evaluate the Labine regime. The Light is bright at GL! The dialogue has never been richer and snappier! Recent examples include Reva and Josh's discussions with their lawyers at Millennium and the Lewis/Spaulding celebration at The Towers that turned into a muddy reunion for Phillip and Harley. The actors must wait with great anticipation daily for peeks at each day's new scripts! And, poor Harley-Alan made it quite clear how he felt about her during a recent breakfast meeting! During the past two weeks, hints at new stories include: Selena's past involvement with Miguel Santos-wouldn't it be shocking if Miguel was really alive? Through flashbacks, Selena and Miguel look hot together (sorry Buzz, looks like Miguel was the love of her life); the aftermath of Carmen's murder-what really happened? How were Abuela Santos and Claire involved? Looks like a lot of twists and turns ahead; Rick and Abby's break-up and Rick's confession to the hospital board; Stronger hints at a possible Edmund/Beth pairing-is there a duller couple than Beth/Jim? Edmund could be the answer; Harley's return to the police force; the sudden messy divorce of Josh and Reva; and Ross's hesitation to fully commit to Blake. And, I hope that Noah's mysterious past has a great payoff to viewers. Wouldn't it be great if Noah was somehow involved with Reva's long lost sister Roxie? Poor Reva-another fight with another sister over another man. It's great to see storylines overlapping and other (unused) characters being pushed into the spotlight. How many times have we complained in the past that GL tends to focus on one storyline or character at a time? Does San Cristobel ring any bells? A tip of the hat, though, to the previous Esenstein/Harmon-Brown/Conforti regime: Reva clone; Nursery Rhyme stalker; the return and demise of Annie; the introduction of the Santos clan; San Cristobel; and new pairings. Thanks for the memories! The future is bright at GL with the Labines!
